Horsemanship and Equine Assisted Learning (Ages 9-14)
July 29, 2019 – August 1, 2019
9:30 am - 3:00 pmIn collaboration with WeCanRide in Medina, MN, Arete Academy is offering Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). Campers will spend the first hour of the day and the last hour of the day learning about horses and preparing for their time with the horses. The rest of the time will be spent at the stable working with the horses. It is important to note that this Equine Assisted Learning camp will be doing only “groundwork”, not riding. Some of the activities will include leading the horse, understanding the horse's nonverbal cues, grooming, tacking, feeding, horse health, taking a horse's vital signs, and understanding how human behavior impacts the horse's behavior. Join us for this very special hands-on experience!

They will write a shopping list based on the recipes they chose and make sure to stay within a budget. The teachers will have some suggestions for unique food items and ways to present and serve their unique creations.

For this week, we will retain the magic of Minecraft while adding elements that encourage creativity and learning. We will start with a focus on coding and expand our Minecraft knowledge to other areas.
